UPDATE: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on academic and research activities, Urban@UW has made the difficult decision to postpone our Spark Grants program. In addition to recognizing the varied strains and hardship our community is experiencing, we want to ensure that new collaborations launch in a context that promotes meeting and exchange. We hope our collective efforts against this disease will come to fruition quickly, and plan to review our strategy for the Spark Grants program later in spring quarter. At that point, in the hopes that collaboration has become more feasible, we will assess the most appropriate course of action.

Urban@UW is excited to announce an opportunity for funding small-scale, new or emergent projects in urban systems. Our Urban@UW Research Spark Grants RFP is intended to catalyze new ideas, connections, and next steps for UW faculty and research staff undertaking cross-disciplinary and community-engaged urban scholarship; we will fund 2-4 projects up to $8,000 each. The application window opens March 1 and deadline for applications is March 31 (11:59pm Pacific). We look forward to supporting your efforts!
